The Isolated USB to SPI converter is an adapter used to electrically isolate a USB link between a PC and a device without drastically reducing  the data rate of the link. The USC-216 can connect any device with an SPI to a USB host and can be used as a bi-directional adapter for any application that needs a USB connection such as data acquisition, instrumentation and communication.

The USC-216 is USB 2.0 compliant and can achieve a communication speed of up to 6Mbps from the SPI port. The USC-216 offers a 2.5kVRMS isolation between the target device and the USB host.

The enumeration sequence is performed automatically by attaching the converter to the USB host side and the SPI side to the other end of the peripheral. The USC-216 is now operational with any configurable SPI port by default. (Master, 8bits, active low clock) The configurations can be modified using commands sent by the host. Test software and a Windows driver are offered free of charge with the purchase of a USC-216.
